Thermocouple Sensors

Thermocouples (T/C’s) are a common temperature sensors used in industry. T/C’s are relatively rugged and can be used in a wide range of temperatures.

Thermocouples produce a DC voltage depending on the temperature of the T/C probe. The voltage is in the millivolt range and increases with increases in temperature. T/C’s are formed by joining two different metal alloy wires. There are several types of T/C’s. The most common are:

· Thermocouple

· RTD · Infrared

· Proximity · Photoelectric

· Fiberoptic
